The Gospel that Breaks Borders
5 Day Devotional
This five day devotional will be taking a deeper dive into the sermon from Sunday, March 8, 2026. We'll explore the meaning of the uncut Gospel, its power to unite diverse people, and how it propels us into a Jesus Revolution that spreads forgiveness and freedom throughout our communities.
Day 1
Acts 13:38-39
The revelation of the uncut gospel brings to light the profound truth that through Jesus, we receive forgiveness and freedom that the law of Moses could not provide. This transformation allows us to redefine our identity, not by our efforts or heritage, but by embracing Jesus's finished work on the cross. As Paul spoke boldly in the synagogue at Pisidian Antioch, he ushered in a wave of grace that extends beyond cultural boundaries, inviting everyone to experience a new life in Christ.
This day challenges us to re-examine how we perceive ourselves and others within the story of the gospel. Are we living as people who have been set free by grace, or are we clinging to traditions and performances? The uncut gospel calls us out of the constraints of law and into a relationship that is fueled by the loving sacrifice of our Savior. By recognizing Jesus’s redemptive power, we become a people who stand on equal ground, inviting others into this revolutionary story of hope and renewal.
How does understanding freedom through Jesus change your perspective on your personal identity?
What old stories or traditions might you need to let go of to fully embrace the gospel's message?
How can you share this message of grace and freedom within your community?
Pray for the courage to live out the freedom that Jesus provides.
Ask God to reveal areas in your life where legalism may be overshadowing grace.
Day 2
Acts 13:47
The mission of the church, as Paul demonstrates, is to be a light for the Gentiles, a beacon of hope and salvation to all walks of life. This is a radical inclusive call, rooted in the promise that God's salvation is available to every nation and tribe. The spread of the gospel is more than a cultural event; it is a theological mandate that defies the boundaries of ethnicity and tradition. As believers, we are called to be emissaries of this inclusive hope, ensuring our lives reflect the light of Christ to a watching world.
Today, we are reminded that the gospel creates a new kind of people: not bound by societal divisions but unified under Christ's lordship. Our communities thrive not because we see eye-to-eye on all issues, but because we share the transformative power of grace. As we live out this gospel, let us become more intentional about extending radical hospitality, celebrating our differences while anchored in our shared identity in Jesus.
What barriers exist in your heart or community that might hinder the gospel's inclusive message?
How can you be more intentional about reflecting the light of Christ to those around you?
In what ways does your own story testify to the radical inclusivity of the gospel?
Pray for unity and courage to cross cultural divides with the love of Christ.
Ask God to help you see people as He sees them, beyond societal labels.
Day 3
Acts 14:22
As Paul and Barnabas strengthened the disciples, encouraging them to remain firm in their faith despite challenges, we see a clear picture of leadership emerging amidst adversity. The gospel's proclamation often incites resistance, yet it is this very space of opposition where true resilience and leadership are forged. As gospel bearers, we must remain anchored and unwavering, firmly grounded in the assurance that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.
This day emphasizes the necessity for believers to persist in the face of difficulties. The Jesus Revolution demands steadfastness and dedication to spreading the message of hope no matter the cost. Through perseverance in trials, our faith grows, and we become part of a larger movement that is unyielding and transformative, leaving an indelible mark on our communities and beyond.
How have you experienced the emergence of leadership or growth through trials in your life?
What does it mean to be anchored in your faith in today's world?
How can you bolster other believers in your community during times of resistance?
Pray for endurance and strength to withstand opposition to the gospel.
Thank God for the ways hardships have matured your faith and witness.
Day 4
Acts 13:52
The joy of the disciples amidst persecution bears witness to the profound influence of the Holy Spirit. In this revolution, the indwelling Spirit is not merely a silent companion but an active agent bringing joy and resilience. This divine joy is not dependent on circumstances but arises from a deep, abiding connection with Christ, empowering believers to stand firm and to spread love and truth with boldness.
The joy found in the gospel is a testament to its transformative power. It reminds us that the Jesus Revolution is not characterized by coercion or anxiety but by a palpable sense of joy that refuses to be stifled. Let this joy guide your path, bringing vibrant life to those around you as you continue sharing God’s unrestricted love and grace.
In what areas of your life do you need to invite the Holy Spirit to restore joy?
How can you cultivate an atmosphere of joy amidst struggles in your community?
When have you seen joy result from sharing the gospel?
Pray for a renewal of joy and strength through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Invite the Holy Spirit to fill you, redefining joy within your heart.
Day 5
Acts 14:27
Upon returning to Antioch, Paul and Barnabas shared all that God had accomplished through them, emphasizing that the door of faith had been opened to the Gentiles. This marks not just the conclusion of a journey, but a celebration of the Spirit’s work amongst the new and diverse body of believers. It’s a reminder that the Jesus Revolution is an ongoing narrative, one that continually unfolds as more are invited into the Kingdom.
Reflecting on this, we are encouraged to take part in this grand story, recognizing that mission is a communal call that transcends individual efforts. The opening of the door of faith to all nations exemplifies God’s unbounded love. Let us continue in collective prayer, conversation, and action, drawing others into the faith community with arms wide open, ready for the next chapter of the Jesus Revolution.
How does celebrating God's work among diverse peoples inspire your faith journey?
What steps can you take to open the 'door of faith' to those around you?
How might you actively engage in God’s unfolding story?
Pray for openness and opportunities to share faith with others.
Thank God for the diversity and unity found within His Kingdom.
