Leadership at United

Believers who invest their hearts, time, families, and finances in the building of a local church deserve to have confidence in church leadership. People are looking for leaders who conduct themselves with integrity and respect when making decisions that affect their lives.

Our church government is made up of three groups of Elders. These men are tasked with governing and shepherding the flock of United Church. They serve in varying capacities listed below.

We Are

The Pastoral staff team is led by the Senior Pastor. This team oversees the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church. These staff pastors serve the congregation and are responsible for the development of the spiritual life of the church.
The Senior Pastor Leadership Team serves in both spiritual and staff leadership capacities, as the protectors and encouragers of a positive spiritual climate within the Church. They provide counsel to the Senior Pastor and execute the vision, mission, and strategy of the Church through their jobs and the teams they lead. Though not elders, the church’s First Lady and the Women’s Minister also serve on the Senior Pastor Leadership team.
Our Trustees are members of the congregation who help to oversee the finances and direct the provision of the facilities needed by the church.
They provide counsel to the Senior Pastor regarding the major financial commitments of the church. As Non-Staff Elders, they also serve alongside the pastors in shepherding the flock of God.
The Overseers are pastors of nationally-respected congregations and ministries who love United Church and are willing to provide spiritual protection to the church.
They may be called in to help in accountability matters relating to the Senior Pastor if requested by the Pastors or Elders. The Overseers serve as Apostolic Elders.

Our Senior Pastor

Pastor Léonce B. Crump Jr. is an international speaker, former NFL athlete, and the co-founder and senior pastor of United Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also the author of Renovate: Changing Who You Are by Loving Where You Are and co-author of The Resilience Factor: A Step-By-Step Guide to Catalyse an Unbreakable Team. Léonce has been published in varying print and digital publications, writing on everything from leadership to politics.

He serves on several nonprofit boards that promote human flourishing. A champion for the church’s participation in focused and intentional cultural renewal, Pastor. Léonce is a leading voice of a generation committed to operating as God’s redemptive agents on the earth. Pastor Léonce and his wife, Breanna, reside in Atlanta with their three daughters and son.
