This five day devotional will be taking a deeper dive into the sermon from Sunday, August 30, 2026. We will explore how the stories of Priscilla, Aquila, and Apollos reflect our own journeys in faith, focusing on themes of mentorship, growth, and completing one another in Christ.
Day 1
Acts 18:24-26
Today's focus is on the idea that being talented or gifted does not equate to being complete. Apollos was a gifted preacher, yet he needed guidance to complete his understanding. Similarly, we may excel in certain areas, yet lack fullness in others. It's crucial to recognize that gaps exist in all of us, and reaching out to trusted individuals can help us grow more holistically.
Priscilla and Aquila did not undermine Apollos; rather, they built on his existing knowledge. This shows us that correction, when done with love and respect, serves as an essential tool for growth.
Each one of us can similarly contribute to the spiritual development of others, filling in gaps and enabling a more complete expression of the gifts within us.

Day 2
1 Corinthians 3:6
Apollos's story is one of adapting and growing. Paul described his work as planting, while Apollos watered, showing collaboration in God’s larger plan. This passage invites us to consider our role in the spiritual ecosystems around us. We are reminded that God orchestrates these roles to fulfill His purpose.
The beauty of such divine collaboration is seen in its impact, not just on individuals but on communities. The collective effort, the pouring into each other, and the willingness to be both learners and teachers, strengthen the church generationally. It's a compelling call for us to engage wholeheartedly in these roles.

Day 3
Hebrews 10:24-25
Our journey often revolves around the community that surrounds us. Hebrews teaches the importance of spurring one another on toward love and good deeds. This is a key element highlighted in Priscilla's and Aquila's relationship with Apollos. Encouragement and correction are both forms of love.
The Church thrives on a culture of growth-driven encouragement. It can be intimidating to correct, as Priscilla and Aquila did, yet it is a loving act with the potential to yield invaluable spiritual fruit. Engaging in and fostering these relationships are vital components for building strong spiritual connections and a Christ-centered life.

Day 4
2 Timothy 2:2
The scripture in Timothy underscores the importance of passing down knowledge and wisdom. Priscilla and Aquila tirelessly conveyed what they knew to Apollos. Their dedication is a testament to the power of sharing wisdom as a perennial influence, encouraging us to do the same within our spiritual spheres.
Mentorship is more than imparting knowledge; it is about cultivating a culture of continuous learning and teaching. The act of teaching requires one to refine what they know, and thus fosters growth within both the teacher and the student. God calls us to be lifelong learners, both giving and receiving wisdom generously.

Their willingness to teach came from a place of abiding in God’s command to go and multiply the faith. This is a journey not merely for our sake but for expanding God’s kingdom.
As we reach the conclusion of this devotional, it is clear that discipleship is always ongoing. The most profound impact is often not in grand gestures but in small, consistent acts of faith and mentorship. We are each called to contribute uniquely to the ever-growing tapestry of God's kingdom.
