5 Day Devotional
This five day devotional will be taking a deeper dive into the sermon from Sunday, August 23, 2026. We'll explore how to integrate our faith into everyday life as we unpack the concept of blending the sacred and the secular.
Day 1
Acts 18:1-4
Today we delve into the presence of God in our everyday labor. Paul, a tentmaker, demonstrates that there is no division between sacred and secular work. By working alongside Aquila and Priscilla, Paul shows that God uses our routine, daily labor as places of ministry and connection. This story calls us to see our workplace as our mission field, where integrity and excellence serve as testimony to God's presence.
Consider the power in seeing your everyday tasks as a form of ministry. For too long, many have believed their job was merely a source of income, separate from their spiritual life. Yet, this dichotomy isn't supported by Scripture. Paul's integration invites us to witness to those around us through our work ethic and interactions, merging everyday life with divine purpose.
How can you see your work as a room where ministry happens?

Day 2
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning, God introduced Himself as a worker. Before the fall, work was holy, and God fashioned us in His image to be workers too. Our jobs, then, become stepping stones in fulfilling this divine attribute, binding together our faith and daily efforts.
Each task, mundane or significant, is an opportunity to reflect the nature of God. By embracing the roles we have, we allow our faith to inform and shape our life as a whole, not just during designated sacred moments. Our call is to break down these divides and realize that all work can be done for His glory.
What does it mean to you that work was present before sin entered the world?
How can you align your work with God’s creative and redemptive purposes?
What talents has God uniquely given you to express through your work?
Pray that God will help you see each task as an opportunity to reflect His glory.
Ask God to show you ways to bridge Sunday worship with weekday work seamlessly.
Day 3
Acts 18:9-11
Paul, amidst opposition and exhaustion, receives divine reassurance. The vision from God to stay and not be silent illustrates that God’s presence and purposes persevere even in adversity. His promise - "I am with you" - underscores the assurance that our labor isn’t in vain.
Recognize that God often meets us in difficult places, encouraging us to continue His work despite the challenges. Just as Paul found strength in God's promise, we too can find hope in persevering. Know that your efforts have purpose and will bear fruit, even when not immediately visible.
Reflect on a time when you felt like quitting. How did you experience God’s encouragement?
What does it mean for you to “not go silent” in your current context?
Who around you might need encouragement to keep going?
Pray for strength and perseverance in your current challenges.
Thank God for His promise that you are not alone in your mission.
Day 4
Corinthians 3:6
Paul's words remind us that while we plant and water, it is God who gives the growth. Our role is to faithfully serve, trusting God with the results. Whether through grand gestures or small everyday interactions, God can use us to bring about His purposes.
There is a deep freedom in knowing that while we are called to work, the increase is the Lord’s. This understanding releases us from the pressure of outcomes, allowing us to focus on obedience and trust, grounded in the assurance that God works through all things for good.

Pray for the grace to trust God with the outcomes of your work.
Reflect on the ways God has used your diligence and faithfulness in the past.
Day 5
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. This command transforms any job into an act of worship. Our work, when done for God, connects the simplest tasks to the deepest acts of faith, blessing others through our diligence.
As we approach our work as service to the Lord, we sanctify the secular, bridging the gap between temporal tasks and eternal values. This integrated life glorifies God and profoundly impacts those around us, allowing them to see His love in action.
