This five-day devotional will be taking a deeper dive into the sermon from Sunday, September 13, 2026. Together, we will explore the themes of anticipation, divine timing, and God's vision for our lives as shared by Pastor Leonce on Vision Sunday. Each day will guide you to reflect more deeply on how God's appointed times shape our journeys.
Day 1
Habakkuk 2:2–3
Today, we examine the call to "write the vision; make it plain." Just as God shared with Habakkuk, clear and accessible vision helps us to run this race with endurance and clarity. The divine design isn't hidden by complexities but made straightforward so every runner can comprehend and act swiftly. God places this clarity within us to align our expectations not with what is immediate but with what is planned and divinely appointed.
The sense of urgency often makes us feel like the waiting time is a delay. However, just as God reassured Habakkuk, the vision is destined for its predetermined moment. It is not late; it is our task to wait faithfully, trusting in its timely realization. By accepting this divine timing, we begin to cultivate patience, trust, and resilience in our journeys.

Day 2
Nehemiah 2:17–18
Nehemiah rallied the people of Jerusalem to rebuild the city walls, reminding them of God's guiding hand. The vision Nehemiah shared was plain and empowered the people to strengthen their hands for the work ahead. Similarly, God equips us with a clear vision, prompting unity and decisive action towards a shared goal.
When we align ourselves with God's plans, our efforts become a collective endeavor, reflecting the strength found in community. Whether it is building walls or forming life-giving relationships, the vision unites us, encouraging participation in God's ongoing work through and around us.

Day 3
Hebrews 12:1–2
Hebrews encourages believers to run their race with perseverance, fixing their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. As we embrace God's vision, we must look to Jesus' example, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross. The vision becomes not just a distant finish line but a guiding force through our challenges and triumphs.
Emulating Jesus’ determination, believers are invited to view life's setbacks not as hindrances but as opportunities for growth. By holding steadfast, the runners’ eyes remain on Jesus, ensuring the vision is continuously in focus, even amid life's uncertainties.

Day 4
Psalm 1
Psalm 1 paints a picture of the blessed person who is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season. This imagery serves as a powerful representation of what it means to be rooted in God's truth, drawing life from His continuous presence. A tree with a robust, wide-reaching root system is not easily shaken or uprooted.
God calls us to be deeply rooted, not just individually but linked with others, just like the interconnectedness of a grove of trees. When we allow ourselves to connect with others, drawing strength and support from our faith community, we represent a grove standing resilient against life’s adversities.

Romans 5:6
Romans 5:6 reveals the readiness with which God's timing brought about salvation through Christ, illustrating that while we were still powerless, at just the right moment, Christ died for the ungodly. It is a profound reminder that waiting on God's timing is not idle but purposeful, preparing us for His grace and fulfillment.
Living in alignment with this truth means trusting that God's plans, though unseen, work through us and prepare the way for His coming promises. He positions us perfectly for when His vision becomes a realized reality, just as Christ's death and resurrection perfectly aligned with a redemptive timeline.
