This five day devotional will be taking a deeper dive into the sermon from Sunday, September 27, 2026. Over the next few days, we'll explore how we are each needed and not just meant to be spectators, how order is a form of love, and the deeper meaning of having something to bring, guided by the teachings of 1 Corinthians.
Day 1
1 Corinthians 14:26
In our journey today, we reflect upon the verse from 1 Corinthians that emphasizes "each one has" something to bring. This message reinforces the sermon's core theme — we are all necessary in God's plan. We are reminded that God calls us to be participants, not just spectators. Each of us brings a unique gift meant to contribute to the collective building up of the Church. Imagine a gathering where every voice is valued, where the essence of community lies in contribution and mutual edification.
This is not about professionalizing faith, but about engaging with it deeply, where each voice, whether through hymns, lessons, revelations, or interpretations, plays a crucial role. Paul's instruction leads us to see each participation as integral to achieving the harmony and growth within the congregation. The question we should ask ourselves is not only "What can I receive?" but importantly, "What can I give that will uplift others?"

Day 2
1 Corinthians 14:33
Today, our focus is on the concept that 'God is not a God of confusion but of peace.' Pastor Leonce speaks about order being what love looks like. In a world often driven by chaos, this is a reminder that divine order brings wholeness and peace. It invites safe spaces where every person feels included and cherished.

Day 3
1 Corinthians 14:32
In focusing on the control over one’s own spirit, this scripture speaks directly to the ability to witness God while maintaining self-control. Pastor Leonce highlights how a real encounter with God does not strip away our ability to manage ourselves but rather empowers it. The transformative effect of God’s presence should also include discernment and wisdom.
This builds a sense of responsibility within us to act with insight and temperance. By recognizing that God’s Spirit aligns with peace and self-control, we learn that our actions should be tempered with grace. Being prophetic or sharing God's word should increase order and understanding, not confusion or chaos.

1 Corinthians 14:39
As we meditate on the exhortation to 'earnestly desire to prophesy', today's theme is the openness to God’s Spirit. Pastor Leonce encourages us to be unapologetic in wishing to publicly bear witness to God’s presence and truth. Prophecy here is not about future-telling but about spreading words that edify, encourage, and comfort.
Being part of the Body of Christ means acknowledging our call to speak life into situations and people. It is the Spirit’s urging that calls us to share from a heart led by understanding, one that is ready to uplift and build. Recognizing this call is a reason to rejoice as it strengthens our own faith while nurturing that of others.

Day 5
Mark 15:37–39
Concluding our devotion, we reflect on the event of the curtain tearing at the moment of Jesus’ death. This symbolizes the barrier being removed, allowing all of us to access God’s presence. Pastor Leonce speaks of the significance of the Roman soldier being the first to acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God after this moment of ultimate sacrifice.
This act of tearing the curtain from top to bottom demonstrates God’s initiative in reconciliation. Our task now is to live as people redeemed and invited into a close communion with God, without barriers. The invitation extends to everyone, urging us to step into the grace Jesus’ death affords us.
