Nothing Like It

5 Day Devotional

This five day devotional will be taking a deeper dive into the sermon from Sunday, May 24, 2026. Together, we will explore the transformative power of living with wonder and hope amidst a world that often favors the quick and the superficial.

Day 1

Ephesians 3:7-12

As we begin this journey, we reflect on the wonder of the Church as described by Paul. The Church is meant to be a display of God's manifold wisdom—a vibrant tapestry of diverse threads, woven together in unity and purpose. In a world simplified by algorithms, the Church stands as a beacon of variety, reflecting the infinite character of God.

Today, let us renew our perspective of what it means to be part of this divine fellowship. The wonder of the Church isn't found in our sameness, but in our collective strength and our shared faith. Let us allow this truth to inspire awe and a deeper appreciation for our unique role within this holy body.

  • Reflect on how your uniqueness contributes to the tapestry of the Church.

  • In what ways have you been seeking satisfaction in temporary "hits" instead of God's eternal wonder?

  • How can you actively participate in and support the diversity within your church community?

  • Pray for a greater appreciation of the diversity in the Church.

  • Ask God to help you replace superficial satisfaction with genuine wonder.

Day 2

Ephesians 3:6

Paul reveals a mystery – that through the gospel, the Gentiles have become fellow heirs in the promise of Christ. This breaking down of ancient barriers invites us to reframe our identity, not as individuals separated by culture or status, but as members of a new, united family with Jesus at its head.

This new identity transcends the divisions that once defined us. The Church, therefore, becomes a living testimony of God’s ability to unite what was once divided. Let us embrace this new identity wholeheartedly, recognizing the call to unity that reflects God’s ultimate purpose.

  • How does your identity as a member of God’s family influence your daily life?

  • What barriers, ancient or modern, need breaking down in your heart?

  • How can you foster unity within your church community?

  • Thank God for the new family you belong to through Christ.

  • Ask for guidance in being a bridge-builder within your communities.

Day 3

Ephesians 3:10

God’s manifold wisdom is made known through the Church, intended as a message to the rulers and authorities of the heavenly places. The Church serves as a cosmic display of redemption and grace, presenting an inexplicable unity that puzzles the earthly powers.

Consider the Church’s role in standing as a testament to God’s wisdom. How do you contribute to this testimony? Let us strive to be a community that reflects God’s multifaceted wisdom, displaying unity and love that speaks to the world of the transformative power of the gospel.

  • Evaluate how your life reflects God's wisdom to those around you.

  • In what areas can you improve in displaying God’s unity and love?

  • What tangible actions can you take to model God’s grace?

  • Request God’s help in becoming a reflection of His manifold wisdom.

  • Pray for the Church to be a powerful witness to the heavenly authorities.

Day 4

Corinthians 12:12-14

Paul illustrates the Church as a body, many parts forming a whole, each indispensable and uniquely functioning for the well-being of the entire body. This metaphor challenges us to see ourselves as an integral part of this whole, interdependent and vital to its health and mission.

Reflect on how your role—no matter how small it might appear—contributes to the life and unity of the Church. Each member’s contribution is crucial in fulfilling God's mission and in demonstrating His kingdom here on earth.

  • What is your role in the body of Christ, and how do you fulfill it?

  • Have you underestimated the value of your function within the church community?

  • How can you better support others in their roles within the Church?

  • Thank God for your unique gifts and place in His church.

  • Seek divine guidance in using your gifts for the betterment of the Church.

Day 5

Romans 12:4-5

The Apostle Paul paints a picture of the Church as a unified body, connected in purpose through Christ. This reflection calls us to consider our vocation—not merely as a job, but as a divine calling to be an outpost of heaven on earth.

In our daily tasks, no matter how mundane, we carry the message of God's kingdom. Commit this week to embodying the kingdom's values, showing love, patience, and grace in every interaction, and lighting the way for others to see the beauty of God's wisdom.

  • How can you turn your daily routines into acts of worship and service?

  • What stands in the way of living your life as an extension of God’s kingdom?

  • In what ways can you help others discover their vocations in Christ?

  • Invite God to reveal new ways to embody His kingdom purpose.

  • Pray for clarity and courage to affirm your role in God’s unfolding story.
