Adoption, foster care, and kinship care all tell the same story. Someone stepping in so a child isn't alone. At United Church, we support the families living that story. We walk alongside those fostering, adopting, or raising kin, and we invite our whole church to be part of it.

Right now, Cobb County doesn't have enough homes for the kids who need one. We believe the church is built to close that gap, one family, one relationship, one act of support at a time.
GET INVOLVED
Foster, Adoptive & Kinship Families
Whether you're already fostering, adopting, or raising a relative's child, or you're just starting to explore it, we want to walk with you. Reach out, and we'll connect personally.
Volunteer
Not every family can foster or adopt, but everyone can serve and walk alongside families in real time. There is something for everybody; why not you?
Action Team
Support key moments in a family's journey: new placements, disruptions, and grief points, coordinating church-wide meal trains, prayer requests, and checking in with families regularly. They also monitor a resource database internally to track and respond to community needs primarily via Care Closet.
Outreach & Events Team
Builds visibility and connection by coordinating appreciation dinners, churchwide initiatives & events, including WinShape interest meetings & trainings.
Care Closet Team
Serves as “keepers” of the Care Closet, maintaining organization and readiness through regular tidying and organization sessions, ongoing Wear It Forward clothing drive, and facilitating shopping appointments for families.

CARE CLOSET
What is it? A free clothing resource, stocked and organized by our volunteers, available to foster and adoptive families and anyone in our local community with a genuine need.
Donate: We're always collecting shoes and apparel in new or like-new condition, for all ages, along with new undergarments and socks. Every size is welcome. Drop off donations at our donation station in the lower lobby, just outside the sanctuary.
