What People Are Saying
The movies and discussions touched on sensitive topics for me and I'm sure for others. I did not expect the series to be so visceral. The series felt like an invitation to process emotions and to ask someone who does care about them and knows exactly what we are feeling because He is an ever present friend, Jesus. It was comforting to know that God cares for our emotions and their effects on our lives, and hopeful to know that God promises that our situations can be redeemed even if it’s one step at a time.
BILL
Stories are sticky. At the Movies was a powerful series because it connected the stories we all share with the truths of who we really are in Christ. It also sparked hope to know that our stories aren't our true identity. I am not the sum of what I've done or what has happened to me.
MEL
The series of movies at United Church were amazing and helped me understand the importance of attachment styles and how it can hold you back in every relationship. But if you change your focus to your relationship with God, He can help you with everything that you're lacking from your other relationships!
